Associate Professor William Ha
Associate Professor William Ha is the Head of Endodontics at the University of Sydney. He completed his Bachelor of Dental Science in 2007 and PhD in Endodontics in 2017. He worked as a general dentist in Brisbane until 2018, when he moved to Adelaide, where he completed his Doctor of Clinical Dentistry degree in Endodontics in 2021.
He moved to Sydney in 2022 to follow his wife who is from Sydney. He set up the Doctor of Clinical Dentistry specialty program in Endodontics at the University of Sydney, which had its first intake of specialist Endodontic trainees in 2024.
A/Prof Ha has lectured within Australia and internationally to dentists. He has undertaken volunteer work in Nepal and the Philippines. He was the former President of the Queensland branch of the Australian Society of Endodontology as well as the Queensland branch of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Paediatric Dentistry.
He has over 30 published peer-reviewed articles, including 6 in the Journal of Endodontics. He is the deputy editor-in-chief of the European Endodontic Journal, a committee member of the International Association for Dental Traumatology (IADT), scientific chair for the World Endodontic Congress 2026 meeting in Sydney, and a Fellow of the Pierre Fauchard Academy. He is also a member of the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Endodontists and a member of the American Association of Endodontists.
In 2019, A/Prof Ha was inducted as a Fellow of the Pierre Fauchard Academy (PFA). Fellowship is by invitation only and awards leaders in dentistry. A/Prof Ha’s primary language is English, and he is able to see patients who can only speak Vietnamese.
